This disappointed my dad and made my mum very anxious. A little over a decade since leaving school, working in the arts has shattered me.

My passion for creativity and expression has been overshadowed by the harsh realities of the job market. Despite my academic success, I have found myself questioning my decision to pursue a career in the arts.

My parents' concerns have been validated, and I now understand the importance of practicality and stability in a career. I wish I had listened to my parents' advice and pursued a more traditional path.
